Unforgettable Family Adventures: Explore the World with Adventures by Disney

As a travel planner who specializes in Disney, I REALLY love all of the Disney theme parks and the Disney Cruise Line - but if I was forced to pick a favorite part of the Disney Destinations family, it would have to be Adventures by Disney!

This guide will cover exactly why I love Adventures by Disney so much, as well as:

- the basics you need to know (what exactly is Adventures By Disney, what destinations are covered etc) as well as,

- What's included in the price tag &

- Different ways you can save money when you decide to experience this type of family vacation.

So, let's dive in!

First let me explain that: Adventures by Disney is a premium product aimed at a luxury experience.

Even though experiencing this type of luxury vacation is second to none - my favorite part of the Adventures By Disney experience has to do with how EASY they make it for me.

Let me explain.

As a busy mom, all I do every day is plan things.

I plan meals and carpools and entertainment and education for my family.

And in my spare time, while I fold laundry and make never ending to-do lists, I dream about sitting on a quiet beach!

If somehow I can find a way to squeeze out a few extra hours to plan a vacation, I certainly don’t have time to dedicate to planning an international vacation.

Adventures by Disney does all the planning and arranging for me! These trips are hassle-free and stress-free.

- transportation,

- transfers,

- baggage handling and

- activity fees during your trip are taken care of, so I can relax and actually enjoy the adventure.

I don’t cook.

I don’t plan.

I don’t have to stress about the next transfer and making the deadline.

I don’t have to worry about any of the details and feel like I actually took a vacation!

Sounds like a dream right?!

What is Adventures by Disney?

It is a luxury group touring to destinations around the world with Disney-trained guides and service.

The key words in that sentence are “luxury”, “group” and Disney-trained”.

The luxury part shows up in the accommodations.  From decked-out glamping tents to deluxe river boats, to a 16th-century castle, to 5-star hotels, your comfort is the priority!  You will not be disappointed.

The Disney-trained guides offer in-depth local knowledge and ensure that every detail of your trip is attended to... and you don't just get one guide, you actually get two!

One of your guides is with you from the beginning to the end of your trip, helping you with checking into your hotels, recommending local dining options and everything in between. The second guide is a local expert who can share their knowledge of the local people, places, and customs. You are well taken care of!

Another element I love is that you are actually a part of a small group! Trips typically include 25-40 guests at the most.

This means that the group is small enough so that you can have a chance to chat with everyone if you want to, but large enough so that if someone isn't your cup of tea, you don’t have to spend much time with them.

Best of both worlds.

What destinations do Adventures by Disney travel to?

40+ itineraries are currently offered to Europe, Australia, Asia, Central and South America, and Africa.

There are short escapes that are just 2 - 3 day trips, focused on one city like Paris or Sydney. There are also river cruises, trips showcasing seasonal events like Christmas Markets or Oktoberfest or even Tulip season in Holland!

The land adventures do take up the majority of the itineraries covering 35+ options with something for everyone of all ages - exploring a variety of exciting locations around the world!

One of your biggest challenges will be deciding on which one to take!

Doesn't every kid need a leaning Tower of Pisa picture?

What activities do Adventures by Disney do?

It varies by destination.  The schedule of activities and tours are built to bring you a unique and authentic experience of the area. Generally, there is a mix of culture and educational experiences (museums, historical sites), culinary experiences (cooking lessons, farm tours), physical activity (hikes, rafting, biking), hands-on art activities (pottery painting, native crafts), animal encounters (meeting pandas, searching for sloths), and unscheduled relaxation.

Some of these activities my teenagers would be all in and others, like visiting the historical sites, you can hear the yawning from here! BUT Disney…….remember the Disney trained guide?  The guides bring cultural experiences to life!

Kids of all ages truly are engaged in the tours.

There is a huge difference between me dragging my kids to a museum compared to them dressing in  traditional folk-dance costumes and being taught folk dance by the locals.  Disney is known for their storytelling and immersive experience and these tours are no exception.

Back to my earlier luxury statement-- your itinerary will include VIP access and exclusive access to events.  This might be Michelangelo’s masterpiece on an exclusive after-hours Sistine Chapel tour or a private viewing of England’s Royal Crown Jewels.  An Adventures by Disney trip will provide your family with one-of-a-kind experiences as only Disney can provide.

Are Adventures by Disney tours expensive?

It depends on your perspective. Are these trips big ticket items? Generally, yes. It might be possible to piece together similar itineraries on your own for less money but the time involved in that and the stress of maneuvering every piece is something that I want no part of while traveling internationally, especially with kids.  In addition, when you consider that you are staying in the nicest hotels in town, have access to activities not available to the general public, have front-of-the-line access to activities that are available to the general public, and have the expertise of experienced guides, those are value-added items that are worth paying for!
